Sure, we know you’ve made those scalloped potatoes for three years running and taken first prize at Friendsgiving (wait, your crew doesn’t award prizes?). But it’s time to next-level your holiday planning and take the stars into account. In other words, let’s turn to what is the best possible dish to make for Friendsgiving based on your zodiac sign. Which means it’s best for you to eat as well! Who’s winning first prize now?

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

Ruled by fire, you Rams tend to get heat burns easily, so look for a dish that cools that hot body down. The natural Thanksgiving option? Cranberry sauce! Whether you work from fresh, frozen or can, Aries, you’ll be the coolest kid at the table.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

We know you’re an earthy sign, Taurus, and that you need to balance that salt and fat intake (no shame, we promise). With that in mind, come bearing a delicious soup that emphasizes fall vegetable flavor with squash and keeps you (and your whole holiday crew) away from excess salt, butter, and cream (because someone's bound to bring some creamy mashed potatoes anyway).

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

With your keen intellect and love of healthy living, you Geminis are going to be winning Friendsgiving with crisp with an oatmeal-forward topping instead of a traditional pie. Apple what? Pumpkin who?

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Okay Crabs: We know you love your sushi, and if that’s the thing you want to bring to rock Friendsgiving, that’s cool. But Cancers also love high-calcium foods, so how about bringing some beautiful oysters this year? Whether you bring a bunch of raw (don’t forget the shucking knife) or whip up an oyster casserole, you’re reminding everyone that that this delicious shellfish was part of the original Thanksgiving.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

You heard it here, Lions. Carbs are your astrological friend, so let’s make it about the whole grains and bring a loaf or two of whole wheat or another similarly whole grain bread, if not for the first meal, then ideal for leftover sandwiches later that night!

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Virgo, if you’d take a minute to stop straightening the flatware (again), you’ll want to remember that your diet craves vegetables with spices. So think about tweaking the traditional veggie sides with a high-flavor version, like this Roasted Carrot Platter.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

You’re moody, but everyone loves you for who you are, Libra, and you can make everyone else’s mood bump up by arriving for Friendsgiving with… you ready?... peas! Yes, this oft-overlooked legume at the holidays is a delicious alternative to green beans, and this version even has that Thanksgiving classic—pearl onions—along for the ride.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Make sure you’re drinking lots of water on Turkey Day, Scorpio, because you always need to keep that intake up as a water sign. As for your dish, you love a healthy cholesterol boost, and figs are high on the list. So is cheese. Cheese board with some fig spread? Oh, yes.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

You’re all about eating a balanced diet, Sag, and root vegetables are high on your list of good-for-you foods. Which, given the season, is a home run when it comes to Thanksgiving sides. These roasted root vegetables hit all the autumn notes.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

With those earthy elements tugging at your diet, Capricorn, you need and love some fresh raw salad in your life to feel good about yourself (let’s just say you have a penchant for deep dish pizzas more than you’d like). Be the GOAT of Friendsgiving this year with a winning autumnal salad.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Hey, child of the air: we’re planning here! Okay, we’ve got an easy one for you, and it’s a food that’s so good for you—cabbage! This healthy vegetable makes a delicious autumnal slaw for the Thanksgiving table and sets your zodiacal thermostat right where it needs to be.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

You fish seek iron to help your blood, liver, and brain be their best, so lean in with this stunning salad that gives beets—tops and all—the starring role.
