In college, my friends started Fakesgiving—a night to celebrate Thanksgiving together before everyone went home for the holidays. Our school is on the quarter system and winter break is from Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day. That’s a month and a half of break and since my college is known for it’s international student population, my friends went home to all corners of the world.
Ahhh, the pool is open, the sun is shining, and I’m digging out my dresses and flip-flops. In my eyes, summer is officially here! And with it comes plenty of fun picnics, barbecues, concerts, and of course, delicious summer foods. Who’s ready to fire up the grill and throw on some hot dogs and hamburgers? But although I love some great barbecue, the one thing that defines summer picnic foods for me has got to be the side dishes.
