This Sparkling Water Might Replace Your Nightly Glass of Wine
Yes, it's that good.
We're the first to admit that many of us live and die by La Croix. But there’s a newer seltzer in town that’s taking front and center in our fridges. It’s Spindrift—and it’s pretty darn refreshing.
What makes this seltzer stand out from all the others? (We love Polar, too, and even Target’s $3 brand, so it takes a lot for us to call one “the best.”) But Spindrift packs more flavor than traditional flavored sparkling waters, thanks to the addition of fresh fruit juice and fruit purée in every can. For example, the Raspberry Lime flavor includes sparkling water, raspberry purée, raspberry juice, and fresh lime juice. There are no added sugars, and even with the fruit juice add-ins, 12-oz. cans clock in anywhere from 2 to 15 calories.
Thanks to the real fruit flavor, I actually think of Spindrift as more of a wine, beer, or cocktail substitute than a replacement for other seltzers. In fact, the company just released new 16 oz. “tall boy” cans, which are great for setting out at parties, passing around at tailgates, or enjoying at night instead of a glass of wine. The cans are super cute, so they'll look at home next to trendy craft beers or bottles of rosé in your ice bucket. The calories in the 16 oz. cans range from 11 to 20, depending on the flavor variety.
Spindrift comes in a variety of flavors, including Strawberry, Raspberry Lime, Orange Mango, Grapefruit, Lemon, Blackberry, and Cucumber (which makes you feel like you’re at the spa). The tall boys just launched in CVS stores nationwide, cafe-style restaurants throughout the country, and online at Spindrift Market. The 12-oz. cans are available at Whole Foods stores nationwide, in 4 packs at Trader Joe's, on the Spindrift website, and on Amazon.com.
Check out our round-up of our other favorite seltzers (we took on the envious job of tasting more than 40).
