This Big Box Store Sells a $15 Frying Pan That Beats Out Le Creuset and Cuisinart Skillets
Consumer Reports has ranked it second best on the market.
I'll save you the 619 hours I spent toiling away at culinary school and give away its most valuable secret: You are what you cook with.
Chop with dull knives and a dull, lackluster flavor will magically waft into your dish. Use a blender to make mashed potatoes and your guests will wonder why you didn't just serve straight Elmer's Glue from the bottle. Attempt to poach an egg with a fish spatula and...
That's why cooking with the right non-stick frying pan is so important for every pancake, veggie stir fry, and egg you sizzle. And while you may think you have to spend some serious cash to get a top-notch skillet, recent tests from Consumer Reports proved otherwise.
WATCH: How To Fry an Egg
Ranking among the top three of the 21 nonstick and 9 uncoated pans they tested, was the Daily Chef Nonstick 10" Restaurant Fry Pan from Sam's Club. The pan, which tied for second, retails for $14.98 and is a beast on a variety of important metrics Consumer Reports looked at, including cooking evenness, ease of cleaning, and nonstick food release.
No Sam's Club membership? Delish reports you can snag the pan on Amazon for a little over $30. Also worth noting: The affordable-yet-mighty pan cooked out the competition from brands like Le Creueset and Cuisinart (The first-place pan is from Zwilling J.A. Henckels).
Well y'all, once we've got our hands on a new pan, we solemnly swear to toss that speckled skillet that has been hogging shelf space and burning hash browns since 1998. Really.
