While Halloween may be the best time of year for candy consumption, any true connoisseur of chocolate and confections will tell you that the first week of November is really the best time to score some sweet deals.

Usually, that means scouring CVS, Walgreens, and other convenience stores in search of candy that's been moved into the clearance section. However, a new offer from Hershey's will help you cut out the middleman and save on a whole bunch of candy by going straight to the source.

If you can afford to wait until after Halloween, Hershey's will sell you a factory-direct box full of two and a half pounds of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for just $30. This very legit deal is available on the Hershey's website, where it's currently available for preorder. Shipping is set to begin in early November and supplies are limited. Oh, and in case you're worried about receiving a box of melted chocolate, the candy will show up in special ''cool ship'' packaging at no extra charger to the consumer.

So why's the deal happening? It's hard to say, but the timing could lead one to believe that this is Hershey's way of clearing out its post-Halloween stock of peanut butter cups in a year where trick-or-treating is expected to take a bit of a hit due to the pandemic. Still, probably best not to look a gift horse in the mouth when that gift horse takes the form of two and a half pounds of peanut butter cups showing up directly at your door.

There's no exact release date for this Direct from the Factory delight, beyond ''early November.'' Still, if you act quickly to preorder and are willing to exercise a little patience, you probably won't find a much better deal on this much candy.
