Blue Bell’s Festive Mardi Gras-Inspired Flavor Goes Mainstream
The fan favorite is available for a limited time wherever Blue Bell is sold.
Blue Bell is ringing in 2019 by releasing one of their most-requested flavors nationwide. The beloved Texas creamery’s Mardi Gras King Cake, inspired by the raucous New Orleans tradition, was previously only available in two Southern states. Now, thanks to popular demand, the delicious flavor will be available in half-gallon sizes wherever Blue Bell is sold beginning this week.
“We have been making Mardi Gras King Cake since 2012, but the flavor has mostly been sold in areas known for the celebration such as Louisiana and Alabama,” Carl Breed, corporate sales manager for Blue Bell, said in a news release. “Last year a grocery store in Louisiana posted about the flavor’s arrival on its Facebook page and we started receiving requests from all over the country. After that, we decided to share this festive flavor with everyone in our distribution area.”

The decadent dessert is a combination of two previous flavors, Mardi Gras, introduced in 2004, and King Cake, first produced in 2006. The resulting flavor features a cinnamon cake flavored ice cream, pastry pieces and a green cream cheese swirl with festive candy sprinkles.
Unfortunately, Blue Bell’s Mardi Gras King Cake will only be around for a limited time. Visit BlueBell.com for more information.
