I found this recipe very easy to make. I used it for cookies. Easy to spread! One batch did three and a half big cookies. It tastes wonderful. My husband really likes it.
Slight chunks in the frosting, but overall a very helpful recipe!

white butter?
Great recipe for taste. First time making frosting. I did not know this, but the longer you beat the frosting you actually take the graininess out. I think I needed my butter more softer. I added all the ingredients at once, because the butter and sugar looked way to dry. I also found out my Vanilla is old and worthless. Now I am off to the store.
This frosting recipe is really great. I made some slight changes by adding a pinch of salt and 2 2/3 cups of powdered sugar. It came out light and the sweetness was just right. It's a keeper. You will not be disappointed.
excellent recipe - dense but very soft cake. the icing will be white if you use white butter & clear vanilla. you can use more or less milk to change the consistency depending on if you want it softer to ice a cake or stiffer to pipe edging and detail from a bag.

The flavor was great but I had to add another 3 cups of sugar and 3Tbs.of milk to actually turn the frosting an absolute white.\
