My office had a holiday "bring your best dip" contest and I won with this dip. My two quart dish was nearly empty, and I even received a prize. I may even be mentioned in the next company newsletter, you never know. If you're upset because you don't classify this as gumbo, I would suggest Paul Prudhommes Louisiana kitchen, for anyone else looking for a tasty award winning dip, this is for you.
In South Louisiana, the word gumbo actually means something. Our cullinary culture isn't a novelty for corporations to parade about just to appear eclectic. Stop this garbage.

Mine was not thick, but soupy...tasted great, but was thin. I used a convection oven. Could that have been the problem? Or are u supposed to do something special with the okra?
