Doubled the aromatics as others recommended, didn't use seasoning packets, just plain gf ramen & added some chicken bouillon to the first step. Also, for 2 cups of the liquid I used soaking water from dried shiitake mushrooms. Added extra 2 C water w chicken bouillon & a bit more Siracha & fish sauce (proportioned like the first step) bc we like more broth. Served with tamari & Siracha for adults.
I don't believe I've ever written a bad recipe review, but there is no hope for this one. The chili paste makes it 3 alarm fire hot and the fish sauce makes it disgusting. Frozen pizza for dinner tonight.
This was outstanding! And so quick to make. I used a package of plain Japanese curly noodles (without seasoning packets). With the fish sauce, garlic, and ginger I didn't miss the extra seasoning and prefer less sodium.
Great flavor and easy to make! I loved the hot and sour broth, its great for cold days. Will make again!
This recipe is delicious!!! I did follow SuzMate's suggestion and doubled the green onion, garlic, ginger, and basil. I used fish sauce while cooking but added a dash of soy sauce to my bowl at the table along with extra sirachi. Yummy!!! My family cannot get enough!
I use bok choy instead of spinach, leave out the basil, reduce the carrots and noodles by half and use chicken instead of shrimp. This is awesome!
This was very good and very easy. The flavors just need to be kicked up a bit. I would double the green onion, garlic, ginger, and basil next time.
this recipe was very good. I did make it a bit more work by making a simple shrimp stock with the shells, a carrot, onion, ginger and garlic. I just chopped it and threw it all in to simmer while i prepped the other ingredients, strained and proceeded to follow the recipe as posted. will make again!
