Simple and delicious. I made this for a large family gathering and everyone loved it. The dressing is the best poppy seed dressing I've ever had and so easy to make. I will make this over and over for both entertaining and eating in.
I had some blueberries in the fridge, so I added them to the recipe. After mixing up the dressing, I was concerned that it had too many poppy seeds, but I was mistaken...the dressing is absolutely spot on. This was the perfect complement to pork tenderloin diane, roasted onions with a drizzle of balsamic, and freshly-steamed green beans with lemon zest. This salad will be served often in this house, delicious.
A perfect summer salad for al fresco dining. My husband and I had this salad tonight with simple pan cooked salmon and brown rice. The salad stole the show. I made some minor tweaks - I sprinkled some sugar over the almond slivers while toasting, to give them a caramelized crunch. And I tossed in some thinly sliced Vidalia onion to cut through the overall sweetness of the salad. I would make again with these modifications. The dressing was superb - exactly what I was looking for.
Very good. The dressing was a bit watery but otherwise was ood. I made around 1 & 3/ 4 amount (16-ish oz of lettuce) and it was about the right amount for 13 adults at a casual BBQ.
Yummy, light, easy, and quick! I subbed 1 tbsp of Splenda for one of the three tbsp. of sugar and it was fine. Next time I will use all Splenda and reduce the amount of sweetener to 2 tbsp because it was pretty sweet. I also forgot the almonds which I sure would make it even better. I will definitely make this dressing again!
This salad dressing is so good. I use it on a different strawberry salad - one with cashews and swiss cheese. I use a third of the sugar and half the poppy seeds and it is perfect.
I could eat this every day.
Very good but I cut the sugar in half and it was still plenty sweet.
Excellent, refreshing salad. Made it many times for guests who always ask for the recipe!
Yum-o! This salad was super easy to make and so good, especially for summer! The dressing is not to sweet and is much better than any poppy seed dressing I have ever bought. We will be making this again!
A staple at our house. Nice with spinach, too. I often add a few crumbles of goat cheese to add a bit of tang.
So good.... and so good for you. Portion sie is too small. I went heavy on almonds and strawberries. Served with crab sandwiches for a picnic. This will be a summer favorite. I was out of white wine vinegar so I used red. It was great.
