Nuts are considered a quality protein, and they offer plenty of good-for-you fats along with some fiber. According to the USDA's Food Guide Pyramid 1/2-ounce portion counts as one serving of protein. Serve as a snack, or sprinkle over salad greens for a sweet and crunchy topper.

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 250°.

Step 2

Combine egg white and 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until frothy. Stir in pecans. Add sugar and remaining ingredients except cooking spray, tossing to coat. These are delicious and easy to make. I give them as Christmas gifts every year and have special requests for them. The more you froth the egg whites, the crunchier the coating.
