When my husband couldn't find plain white frosting that wasn't creamy, or smooth, I had to find a quick fix for my daughter's kindergarten gingerbread house project. Every recipe I found was so difficult, and asked for ingredients I just do not keep in the house as a staple, or called for shortening, which I knew would not be tacky enough to act as glue. Since it was already 11pm, and the frosting needed to be ready at 7:30 am for a quick hand off to the teacher, I was delighted to find this recipe. One problem, the butter needed to be soften. So I simply left it out on the counter, and prayed that I could do it in the morning before she left for school. It was a SNAP! It took about 5 minutes from pulling out the mixer, to putting the frosting in the tupperware. Because of how simple the recipe was, and how much sugar was used, it had just the right amount of stickiness to insure even the most difficult gumdrop shingles that my little Angle could find. Tonight we will attempt to use it to ice cookies made for the teacher appreciation luncheon. Wish us Luck!
