There’s no doubt about it—simple guacamole is the best guacamole. When you’re working with such an incredible line-up of fresh ingredients (avocado, lime juice, garlic, and cilantro), you really don’t need bells and whistles to make your dip stand-out delicious. If you opt to make your guacamole a few hours in advance, simply squeeze a bit of lime juice over your guac, then gently press a layer of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dip to prevent browning.

How to Make It

Place avocados in a medium bowl, and mash roughly with a fork. Add fresh lime juice, kosher salt, and minced garlic clove; mash to desired consistency. Stir in chopped fresh cilantro.

A lot of people can't eat cilantro because it does taste like soap to them. It's pretty common.

Needs tomatoe and onion cut very fine. Easy on the cilantro.

No cilantro!

The simplicity is nice but so many of my friends and family dislike cilantro! Also, try to use Haas avocados since the "water-based" avocados can get stringy.

Simple and good

I didn't do this recipe justice, since I left out 2 of the 5 ingredients (husband is allergic to garlic and I don't like cilantro). So basically this was salted avocado with lemon juice. Can't get much simpler than that!
