How to Make It

Step 1

Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Add beans; cook 5 minutes. Plunge beans into ice water; drain.

Step 2

Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper; sauté 30 seconds. Add beans, soy sauce, and salt; cook 2 minutes, tossing frequently. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

This was easy, fast and delicious. I used broccoli instead of green beans, though. Will definitely do again!

Quick and easy way to change the whole flavor of green beans! I used Aloha Shoyu soy sauce because it's more mellow in flavor (and it's available just about anywhere nowadays) and it wasn't overpowering like I thought it might be. It added just the right amount of flavor and I didn't even need the added salt from the recipe! A keeper to be sure!
