Cook asparagus in boiling water 2 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain.
Microwave soy sauce, honey, lime juice, ginger, and garlic on HIGH for 2 minutes. Arrange asparagus on a platter. Drizzle soy sauce mixture over asparagus; sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve with lime wedges.
Cooking time for the asparagus is of course related to the size of the stalks. I did microwave the sauce in 2 30 second increments and it seemed perfect. Will definitely make again - I think next time I'll grill the asparagus.
Yum! This was so quick and easy. If you nuke the sauce for 2 min, it makes a reduction that's packed with flavor. We don't care for ginger, so I omitted it and put in some extra garlic and a little Sriracha. It looked like too little sauce for the amount of asparagus, but the sauce is so flavorful that it was perfect!
This was really, really yummy! Clearly derived from East Asian cooking. I'm going to try it substituting broccoli and green beans. Brussels sprouts could be good too. This is going to become a regular!
DO NOT MICROWAVE THIS FOR 2 minutes. It reduced my sauce to almost a solid! Had to add more soy, water and honey to fix it and I think it's still too bitter. Hopefully it will come out. I'm sure the sauce is wonderful just not at two minutes.
