  • Combine sugar, egg whites (at room temperature), water, and salt in top of double boiler; place over boiling water, and stir constantly until sugar dissolves. Beat on high speed of electric mixer for 7 minutes or until frosting is fluffy and holds soft peaks. Remove from heat; stir in flavoring.
