Once washed, pat strawberries dry with paper towels. Caramel mixture will not stick to wet strawberries.

How to Make It

Step 1

Pat strawberries completely dry with paper towels.

Step 2

Microwave caramels, 3 Tbsp. whipping cream, and 1/4 tsp. salt in a 1-qt. microwave-safe bowl at MEDIUM (50% power) 3 1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring at 1-minute intervals.

Step 3

Dip each strawberry halfway into caramel mixture. Roll in nuts, and place on lightly greased wax paper. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve immediately, or cover and chill up to 8 hours.

Step 4

Note: For testing purposes only, we used Kraft Caramels and Planters NUTrition Heart Healthy Mix.

I made half of the strawberries with the caramels and half with chocolate. I divided up the bunch with half nuts and half without the nuts. They were easy to make and my family liked them. They do need to be eaten the same day you make them, as they coating started melting the next day.

Easy to make and looks beautiful, however caramel and nuts go better with apples in the fall. I would like to make again using chocolate and nuts. Overall worth your effort and time.
