Roasted Chile-Garlic Broccoli
The bold flavors of chile paste and dark sesame oil call for pairing with a robust entrée like grilled salmon, tuna, or beef.

Wow! This was fantastic! Not overly spicy so I think I can include it for a big dinner party. I used pre-minced garlic and rooster sauce.
Holy wow -- this was good! Like standing over the baking sheet eating the rest after dinner good.
Very tasty. Always on the lookout for good broccoli recipes and this was just what my family was craving!!
You can easily adjust the spice level with the sambal oelek! I've made this dish for many guests and I always get a great reaction.
For a different twist...After roasting broccoli (only did florets from 3 stalks) added: 1 1/2 Tbs. soy sauce, 1/2 Tbs. lemon juice, 1 minced garlic, and 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger and a splash of sesame oil. May need to micro a bit to reheat.
I thought this was good, but I would have liked a little more flavor to the broccoli. There were pieces that didn't seem to have any flavor from the sauce. I will probably make this again, but I think I would double the oil and spices.
Most of the reviewers said to use less salt than the recipe called for, but I think the recipe calls for the perfect amount. Next time I will add a little more chili paste for our tastes. Pretty good for roasted broccoli.
Excellent. Needed another broccoli recipe and this fits the bill. Very tasty and we ate all of it. Used a Chili Garlic Sauce from the Asian aisle b/c I can never find the sambal oelek; tasted just great. Will definitely be making this again.
I've made this probably once a week since it came out in April. I've tried it with cauliflower too and thought it was fantastic. So appreciative of this recipe! Try it!
I made this recipe last night and it was awesome! I didn't have the chile paste thing so i substituted a chile garlic paste from the asian section in the super market and topped it off with about a teaspoon of chipotle chile powder. My boyfriend could not stop eating this and he is not a vegetable lover! Great recipe!!!
LOVED this. Went perfectly with a mongolian beef dish I tried for the first time. I may add more sambal oelek next time, and will definitely skip the added salt. Our palates have become very used to lower-sodium cooking, so it was a bit on the salty side for us. The toasted sesame oil imparts so much flavor, it definitely doesn't need the added salt anyway!
LOVED the flavor of oven roasted broccoli! For the salt - I used just a pinch or so of kosher salt. After it was all finished and removed from the oven, I immediately put a few tiny splashes of low sodium soy sauce in the pan and scraped up the brown bits on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spatula. I think this added a great flavor. We will most definitely make this again!
This was spicy and good. My husband made it. We ended up with no left overs. He cut back on the salt because we didn't get 6 cups. I'm glad he did. That was the only complaint...a little on the salty side. But the Sambal Oelek made up for it.
