Richard's Sloppy Joes
Our adult taste-testers described this dish as mildly hot. If your family prefers less kick, adjust the amount of pickled jalapeños (and liquid from the jar) to suit their tastes.

I've rated this a few years ago and still agree with it! We love it, family and friends love it, and I'm still taking it to the Legion whenever I've signed up for making a dish for Sunday football fans. I have not altered it - it is perfect for anyone that can take a little bit of heat. I hope you enjoy it just as much as all of us do, but make it like the recipe says the first time you prepare it! If you don't like the "kick" - then alter it to your taste or use less jalapeno and juice than called for. I think you'll be glad you did.

Read MoreMy hubby has loved sloppy joes since he was a kid in the 70s so I thought I'd make this for him. We BOTH loved this. It's by far the best sloppy joe recipe I've ever made. I did add one chopped onion to the burger when browning though, and it came out fantastic. Thanks for sharing your recipe Richard! : )
Read MoreThis was good. I didn't use worchester sauce since I was out and it still tasted good. Family liked it. Had a nice kick to it without using the hot peppers.

Read MoreDelicious for a quick dinner. I took Christy Jordan's advice (on the video) and substituted pickle relish for the jalapenos. Definitely a keeper! =^..^=
Read MoreI made this for my me and my husband and we both LOVED it. I made one alteration though. Instead of using jalapenos, I used half of a green pepper instead and it was incredible. This meal was very filling and tasty. I will definitely be making this again.
Read MoreMy family loves this sloppy joe recipe and has been known to use it as a sauce for coney dogs too. I believe it is important to use a good quality barbecue sauce. I always add more jalapenos and sauce. I also cook it a bit longer to allow the flavors to meld.
Read MoreMy family & I thought this recipe was awesome...won't be looking any further for sloppy joe recipe...this is a keeper!! Only change I made because of prior reviews...I did not add the diced tomatoes...followed the recipe to a 'T', otherwise...loved the kick, but not too spicy.
Read MoreReally good and fast! I simmered it for about 25 - 30 minutes to melt the flavors and reduce the sauce a bit. I used equal part ketchup and BBQ sauce and left out the jalapenos and vinegar. Used a dash of chipotle chili powder and added a bit of salt. As for "worthy of a special occation" - I would serve this for a casual get together, like a Super Bowl party. Delicious and so easy.
Read MoreThis recipe was very easy and actually the best Sloppy Joe I have ever had. My fiance and I felt like kids again. I used ground buffalo meat and just eyeballed the other ingredients since I used 1/2 the meat than called for. It was perfect for two!
Read MoreThis was an easy, tasty recipe. We made it for a large group of people and everyone enjoyed it. Next time we might use slightly less ketchup, as the ketchup flavor was a little overpowering. Overall, would make it again when I need something quick.
