The maple syrup in this pumpkin butter recipe really darkens up the spread and adds some good depth of flavor. This easy recipe makes a lot, but you can easily cut the recipe in half for a small yield.

How to Make It

Stir together all ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high. Reduce heat to medium-low, and partially cover; cook, stirring often with a rubber spatula, until mixture has thickened and darkened in color, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat; uncover and let stand 1 hour.
