How to Make It

Bring vinegar, water, and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Add cabbage and carrots; let stand 30 minutes. Stir in cilantro and red chile. Microwave pork slices at HIGH for 90 seconds. Cut French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Hollow out top and bottom halves, leaving a 1-inch-thick shell. Top bottom half of bread with mayonnaise, pork, cabbage mixture, and top half of bread. Cut into 4 sandwiches.
