Traditional pesto components (olive oil, garlic, basil, Parmesan cheese, and pine nuts) are tossed into a filling pasta salad.

How to Make It

Step 1

Prepare pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain; place in a large bowl.

Step 2

Combine vinegar and next 6 ingredients (through garlic). Add cheese, ham, basil, and pine nuts to pasta; toss gently to combine. Drizzle with vinegar mixture; toss to coat. Cover and chill.

I found this recipe to be very dry with little flavor. May want to think about doubling the vinegar mixture. I used store-bought chopped ham instead of the Simple Baked Ham recipe. The recipe is quick and easy, most ingredients you should have on hand. Will not make again.
