How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°. Process pecans in a food processor 20 seconds or until finely chopped. Stir together pecans, brown sugar, and pepper.

Step 2

Place half of bacon in a single layer on a lightly greased wire rack in an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet. Repeat procedure with remaining bacon, placing on another lightly greased wire rack in a second foil-lined baking sheet. Press pecan mixture on top of bacon slices, coating well.

Step 3

Bake at 400° for 22 to 25 minutes or until browned and crisp. Let stand 5 minutes.

Perfect combo

This is amazing. I'm not a big bacon fan just on its own, but I always have to have a piece when I make this. I agree with other reviewers that baking at a lower temperature is best; I often cook this with the BBQ bacon recipe that was in the same issue; it calls for 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, and that works well for this variation as well.

Delicious!  I made this today to try it out before hosting a baby shower.  It was fabulous and definitely going on the menu!  I also cooked it at a lower temperature and there was no burning.  Cooked beautifully.

Yummy! I cooked at a lower temperature (350) -- the bacon crisped nicely, and the topping didn't burn.
