We fancified the classic ham and cheese sammy with prosciutto, Swiss, and pear. Fig preserves provide the can't-quite-place-it sweetness that elevates this toast; you can sub 1/2 teaspoon honey.


How to Make It

Combine butter and preserves in a small bowl; spread evenly over toast. Top with cheese, pear, and prosciutto.

Great flavors

Made for a quick lunch and was very happy with the results.  I used an Asian pear which added a little crunch.  Next time I will chop up the prosciutto to make it less likely I'll pull the whole slice off with one bite!  I also slightly melted the cheese under the broiler before adding the meat and pear.  Will definitely make again.
