The microwave keeps preparation for these peanut butter-chocolate bar cookies short and simple.  Briefly bake the oatmeal crust in the oven, then top with the cereal and peanut butter-chocolate fillings and let cool for 45 minutes.

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. Press firmly onto bottom of a lightly greased 15- x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. (Mixture will be thin.) Bake 12 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes.

Step 2

Microwave corn syrup, sugar, and peanut butter in a large microwave-safe glass bowl at HIGH 2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring at 30-second intervals. Stir in cereal. Press mixture firmly over oat mixture in pan.

Step 3

Microwave chocolate and peanut butter morsels in a microwave-safe glass bowl at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring at 30-second intervals. Spread over cereal mixture. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Cool 45 minutes. Cut into bars.

Step 4

Note: We tested with Reese's Peanut Butter Chips and Rice Krispies cereal.

Very good but I don't think these bars did not need the oatmeal crust. It was delicious but it didn't mix well with the rice Krispies. They were quite sweet too. But they are definitely kid-friendly

They are very sweet but I cut the bars small so it wouldn't be too much. Don't know if I would use dry roasted peanuts again, may try another nut.

Sugar bomb. Too sweet for us. Not too sophisticated either. Like a super sweet, time consuming rice crispie treat. Plain rice crispie treats are easier and more tasty to us.

I thought these were great. Easy to put together and YUMMY! I didn't use the PB chips, so I used 2 c. of semi-sweet chips and about 1/2 cup of creamy PB. I am glad I made that change - the bag of PB chips and the bag of chocolate chips would have been WAY too much. Love them!

Took this as a dessert to an Easter Party. None left and everyone was asking for the recipe.

Very decadent - these bars are like a chocolate covered peanut butter rice crispy treat!! I was going to bring the majority of the bars into my office but decided that I will save them for Easter treats instead. I ran short of light corn syrup so I added dark corn syrup to make up the difference, I also used light brown sugar instead of dark brown sugar and they came out fabulous. I used large glass measuring cups for the melting stages and they worked great. Will definitely be making this again.

Very sweet but very good. A lot of great flavor combinations with a crispness of cereal, peanut butter and chocolate are always a great pair, and I always like oats in a recipe. A hit with my co-workers!
