  • Sift together dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Cut in butter and shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle with ice water, and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Shape pastry into a ball. Chill at least 1/2 hour.
