Added salt and pepper to taste and squeezed some lemon juice in and this was a very refreshing spring pasta dish! Substituted low fat ricotta and used protein pasta. Next time I’ll add some grilled chicken!
I followed the recipe to a T.
My kindergartener loved it . That goes to say that this child also doesn't like any flavour on his pasta he usually just eats his noodles with just Parmesan cheese. I liked it after I added tons more salt and pepper and chili pepper . I also sauteed shrimp, in the step after sauteing the garlic and before adding the broccoli back into the pan.
So it's not the most flavorful recipe when you go exactly by the ingredients listed. It's still good though, what I really liked was the ability to add pretty much anything you want to it for extra flavor. I've done this recipe three times when looking for a super cheap home cooked meal and I love it for those reasons. Once I added sauteed mushrooms, another time some grilled shrimp. It's a good, basic staple of a recipe that I recommend!!
I had to get rid of some ricotta so I tried this. Decent as is, however i added 1 large boneless skinless chicken breast. Might add some sautéed sweet peppers next time and/or oregano if I try it again.
All the flavors were pretty bland. The only thing you can taste was the lemon, and that was rather strong. It was decent enough too eat, but not enough to ever make again. Would not recommend.
I thought this recipe was pretty bland. There is a similar recipe that is much better: spaghetti with creamy broccoli pesto.
