Make this easy dessert a day before serving, as you'll have to refrigerate it overnight. 

How to Make It

Step 1

Prepare the filling by combining pudding mix and milk. Beat. Stir in Cool Whip. 

Step 2

Place a layer of graham crackers in bottom of a 9x13 dish. Spread 1/2 filling mixture on top. Repeat with another layer of graham crackers, add rest of filling, top with final layer of graham crackers.

Step 3

To make the topping, bring cocoa, milk and sugar to a roiling boil. Let topping boil for one full minute, stirring frequently. 

Step 4

Remove from heat, cool 1 minute.

Step 5

Add butter and vanilla to topping, and stir till butter is melted.

Step 6

Pour chocolate topping over graham crackers and refrigerate overnight.

Good summertime dessert

I make this also but use French Vanilla pudding and to make it quick & easy I purchase dark chocolate or chocolate fudge prepared frosting and microwave for 1 min and pour over top.

This is definitely an error. Should be 'bring cocoa mild & sugar to a boil. Add butter & vanilla after.

The directions are wrong, and it's a shame they have not posted a correction.  We're assuming you bring the cocoa, milk, and sugar to a boil, then add the butter and vanilla.

NanaAnnI don't understand why the directions for the Topping have you bring cocoa, milk & butter to rolling boil, then removing from heat and cooling 1 minute before telling you to to add butter and vanilla and stir until butter is melted.  I thought you only melted the butter with the cocoa and milk.  HELP!!
