A great punch!

I made this for thanksgiving and at first I was a little worried it would taste bad after reading that horrible review but it turned out awesome! Delicious and strong! Not too strong but it had just the right amount of kick. I had a lot of compliments on this punch. I'll make it again for sure. I wanted to make a point to come back a review this just to ease the mind of anyone that was turned away from this recipe because of the one negative review. It's delicious!!

I should have known better. This was sickly sweet. I'm not even sure how it made it into Southern Living, it's that bad. I served it at a party and everyone took a glass because I normally make great punches, and we all quickly agreed it was not good. I threw out 85% or more of it at the end of the night. What a waste of $34 of alcohol! The sodas and acidic orange juice do nothing to cut through the saccharine grenadine and muscadine wine. By the way, the drink pictured is NOT this punch. This drink's grenadine + cranberry juice = something the color of your child's Kool Aid. Good alcoholic beverages are never Kool Aid red in my experience. Had the picture been right, I probably would have skipped over this recipe. Oh well, live and learn.
