How to Make It

Combine sugar and water in a large saucepan, and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and cool completely. Add orange juice, Champagne, and lime juice; pour into an 11 x 7-inch baking dish. Cover and freeze for 8 hours or until firm. Remove mixture from freezer; let stand 10 minutes. Scrape the entire mixture with a fork until fluffy, and garnish with lime wedges, if desired.

Fantastic! I used Tropicana OJ and bottled lime juice and it turned out just fabulous. Will make this one again...seems like an elegant dish guests would enjoy.

I made this for Mother's Day dinner and it was fantastic! Served it in a bowl along with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and a Milano cookie. Alone it may be have been a little too sweet for my personal tastes, but the other items balanced it out perfectly. I made the recipe as written and had about 1/3 of it left over after serving it to 10 people.
