This isn’t your average hot dog. Adding avocado, red cabbage, and green onion slices adds the crunchiness, creaminess, and zing you didn’t know your frank was missing. Best of all, these Mexican hot dogs feel special, but only take 20 minutes to come together, making them perfect for a hectic weeknight dinner.

How to Make It

Step 1

Combine cabbage, green onions, olive oil, lime juice, salt, and sugar.

Step 2

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Step 3

Place hot dogs on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 6 minutes, turning occasionally.

Step 4

Place 1/4 cup cabbage in each hot dog bun; place 1 hot dog on each bun. Slice avocado; divide among hot dogs.

Made exactly as written and we really enjoyed them.  I wasn't a huge fan of the red cabbage, so next time maybe napa cabbage.  But definitely a great and extremely easy dinner for a busy work night dinner.
