If you have everything on hand, then sure, why not. But not worth buying the ingredients for.

Delicious! I didn't have sherry or basil oil, substituted red cooking wine and vegetable oil (in slightly smaller measurements). Marinated for 4 hours. Used skin-on drumsticks, peeled off blackened crispy skin once grilled to reveal tasty, moist chicken underneath. Kids loved it too. 30 minutes over low heat was right time estimate. Really nice change from boneless breasts & boneless thighs!
I have made this several times, a good way to cook chicken drumsticks. Have both broiled and baked them, plan to try grilled this summer. And easy recipe to prepare, legs stand up to longer marination with out problems. The drumsticks come out tender and tasty, serve with brown rice and a green vegie as a side.
