Sorry........this is the first recipe @ this site that has not wowed me! So many people complained these bars were too sweet, yet no one, to my surprise, said they weren't lemony/tangy enough???? The crust was delish......2 sticks of butter will always make for a great crust. But they were a big disappointment as far a lemon flavor. I was so in the mood for lemon and these are a letdown! I did some detective work, and several recipes @ other sites used more like a cup of lemon juice........and some included zest as well. Next time I will follow my instincts.....I thought 1/3 cup of LJ was a little strange.......I should have compared recipes.

I think this recipe is yummy! The more the bars set, the better they are. The ones I ate last night were great, but the one I ate this morning was even better! I was worried about how my crust was going to turn out as I did not have a pastry blender and have never made my own crust. Everything turned out really well though! My son ate 4 bars right off the bat!

This is the same recipe I got from my mother, who got it at a church fund-raiser at least 45 years ago. It was good then and it is good now! I've never had a problem with them sticking in the pan, but a light coating of cooking spray would probably take care of the problem.

These were easy to make with ingredients I had on hand. The flavor was good and the only bad thing was they stuck to the pan a bit.

Very good but a little too sweet. However, they were a huge hit and I had no leftovers!

These are so good! Only thing I did wrong was not wait until they were fully cooled before cutting in to taste test... I ended up with a lot of messy lemon bars. But they were still delicious!

So yummy! I made these for a party as part of a cookie tray and they were my husband's favorite thing. Neither of us have really liked lemon bars / squares in the past, but we loved these! Lemony but sweet!

Sorry! Love all things lemon but this is way too sweet. Won't make again. Also, prefer a cookie to a bar for the holiday plate.
