These delightfully lemony chicken wings are perfect for tailgating, Super Bowl parties, and even a budget-friendly weeknight dinner.
1/2 cup vodka
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 pounds chicken wings, tips trimmed off
How to Make It
In a large bowl or resealable plastic bag, combine vodka, lemon juice, sugar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir to dissolve sugar and salt. Add the chicken wings and mix to coat. Cover bowl or seal bag and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 400°. Line a 9- by 13-in. baking pan with two layers of foil. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in the pan, and pour the marinade evenly over all. Bake until meat is well browned and pulling away from the bone, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Serve hot or warm.
I followed the recipe exactly, turned them once about half way through the baking time and turned it on broil for about the last three minutes. The wings turned out really good. Next time, I will add a little more seasoning.
I made these for Superbowl 2012. Everyone loved them and they were the first thing eaten and they wanted more! It was very easy to prepare. I followed recipe exactly and after
1 1/4 hour I turned on the broiler for about 5 mins (although they actually had browned quite nicely). I also turned once during baking. These are a hit!
I definitely recommend these!!!! I followed the recipe exactly for our Super Bowl party and they were a HUGE HIT!!!! They had just enough flavor and our guests who don't like spicy foods liked having chicken wings at the party. I will DEFINITELY make these again!
