I was trying to find a vinaigrette that would mimic a dressing on a store bought super food salad.  The ingredients said it had a lemon basil dressing.  Made this recipe, put it on a kale, broccoli, pepper, carrot salad, tossed in some sunflower seeds and it turned out even better than the salad I was attempting to copy!  Now I use it on my regular lettuce salads as well.  So light and refreshing especially with the fresh basil out of the garden.  Thanks for the recipe!

A great vinaigrette that's not too sharp.

Absolutely delicious!  I served this over a Salade Nicoise and it was just perfect.  The sweetness of the basil and balsamic vinegar really brought out the flavor of the silky, baby, Yukon potatoes and haricots verts.  However, this dressing would be good on almost any salad.  Many vinaigrettes are too astringent and assertive for the delicate taste of vegetables, but this was just right, without being too sweet.
