I used Xawaash somali run and it was good, but nothing special.
This recipe was ok. I found the seasoning to be bland - seems like it should have a little kick to it. The leftovers made a nice lunch for me. My husband didn't care for it, although he ate the initial meal. I served it with beans and rice and a salad. I will try other jerk recipes rather than make this again.
I was a little skeptical about this recipe since the rub smelled very strongly of cinnamon, but the end result was really good. It was not difficult to make and will likely be a new go-to dish in my house. I served mine with yellow rice, plantains, and callaloo. The chicken was a hit with my 3 year old, too.
