Replace canned black beans (and the preservatives) easily with some help from your Instant Pot, no soaking required. 

How to Make It

Step 1

Set Instant Pot on sauté setting; add olive oil, and heat until shimmering. Add onion and garlic, and cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in beans, chicken broth, and bay leaf.

Step 2

Press cancel, and place lid on Instant Pot, being sure valve is set to sealed. Press the beans/chili setting on Instant Pot; set to 30 minutes. Once timer goes off, follow manufacturer’s instructions on how to quick release the pressure. When pressure is released, carefully release lid. Garnish with cilantro, if desired.
