How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, combine pumpkin, eggs and peanut butter. Add oats, wheat germ and flour; mix until a sticky dough forms.

Step 2

On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out treats using a 3-inch bone-shape cookie cutter. Use a spatula to transfer treats to baking sheets. Bake until golden brown and dried, 30 to 35 minutes. Allow to cool completely. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.

Step 3

GIVE THEM Place dog treats in a box or tin; seal with washi tape. Include a card that says the treats should be stored in the fridge.

How long will these stay good?

Trying to decide how far in advance I can make these for gifts but nowhere in the recipe does it say how long they will stay good. Don't want to get any of my puppy friends sick!! Anyone...??Thanks!!!
