This easy grilled salmon recipe gets its sweet, mellow flavor from the marinade of bourbon, orange juice, brown sugar and soy sauce.

I was disappointed in the flavor. I basted frequently, but still found it to be bland, especially given all of the ingredients. I much prefer the Grilled Salmon with East-West Spice Rub and Orange-Soy Glaze.
I made this tonight exactly as written and it's wonderful! My husband, 7 year old and I all loved it. My salmon fillets were very thick (probably 3 inches) so I had to grill it quite a bit longer. But by searing it on the skinless side first for about 4 minutes, then flipping it and cooking for another 15 minutes, it was perfect. I basted it often and cooked the marinade down for a sauce that I drizzled over the top. I will definitely be making this again!
Wow, we loved this. Mqrinated it a couple of hours and grilled it. Basted it frequently as we grilled it. Came out perfectly! As others recommended we saved the marinade and simmered it on the stove to drizzle over the fish and rice we served with it. Awesome! Had some marinade left so we grilled some peach halves basted with maple syrup and then drizzled the marinade over them. better than bananas Foster!!!
My first bite was very disappointing. It did not have much flavor and it should with all of the great ingredients. Turns out husband missed an appointment step in the recipe..."baste frequently" with the reserved marinade. I'm bummed and will have to try it again..BASTE FREQUENTLY.
Easy but not much flavor. I wouldn't make this again as I've got much better salmon recipes.
I didn't get to eat this, just did the prep work. Made the marinade in the morning & left in fridge. That afternoon the salmon was added to the bag and brought to a cookout where I'm told it grilled perfectly, looked & tasted great. Will have to make it again and see for myself -or- find some other use for the leftover bourbon!
My daughter and I made this recipe last night - the salmon was scrumptious, and we also deglazed the sauce with a pat of butter and poured in on the salmon, and whipped potatoes - we mixed sweet and white potatoes. It was fantastic. We grilled red and yellow peppers and they tasted good dipped in the sauce. It was so good, we were still talking about it the next morning.
I don't like salmon, but I made this anyway because my husband loves it.. And suddenly I like salmon. It was THAT good. After marinating, I thickened up the sauce on the stove and poured it over the cooked salmon. I would serve it to company anytime.
This is beyond outstanding. It is such an elegant entree. I have never gone without rave reviews when I serve this at a dinner party. I have used the marinade to glaze steelhead fillets which I smoke on our Traeger grill. Superb!!! I have used this recipe no less than 5 times this year alone. A list topper when I want to serve fish. It is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been making this recipe for a number of years, and I have never found another one to taste as good as this one. Absolutely delicious!!
This was great. I made a glaze becauase I didn't have time to marinate it. My husband loved it. He is taking it for lunch and he never reheats salmon. This will definatly be added to the recipe box. We have a lot of fresh Salmon from Lake Superior.
Outstanding! So simple and delicious!
The glaze alone is amazing. I made this for my husband and I for dinner tonight but can't wait to serve to guests.
I baked the salmon / marinade wrapped in foil a 350 oven rather than grilling. Usually we just bake the salmon and use a balsamic reduction as a sauce at the table. This recipe challenges my simpler preparation method and is sure to become a favorite way to have our weekly meal of salmon.
Delicious recipe! I didn't have time to marinate the salmon, so I combined the marinade ingredients & boiled them down to a glaze which ended up working wonderfully. I just applied the glaze a couple of times throughout grilling -still full of flavor!
This is by far one of the best Salmon recipies I have ever eaten. Nothing was overpowering here, all the ingredients meshed. I will be making this again soon, next time for company, although it was a snap to prepare for everyday because I had all of the ingredients on hand. Love it when that happens!!!
This is a great recipe. It's quicky, easy, and only has a few ingredients. I grilled it on a piece of aluminum foil until it came apart with a fork. I served it over rice with a salad on the side. My wife loved it - I will definitely make again.
This is easy, quick and wicked good! What are you waiting for? Try it for supper TONIGHT--you won't be sorry!
I had everything on hand to make this so I thought I would give it a try. It had amazing flavor and was pleasantly surprised. I would cook it for less time though because my filets were bigger than what the recipe called for and I cooked them for less time and they were medium.
This dish is so easy to prepare and delicious. Our family will be using this recipe regularly.
I did this recipe over the 4th of July and used Hawaiian Opah. Oh..My..Gosh!!! It was outstanding. I plan to use it on Salmon just to compare. I served this with a recipe found from this website, Asparagus Rafts. They both have a bit of soy and compliment each other deliciously Presentation was beyond what I had expected. A quick, casual, do ahead and yet impressive meal. Everything was made ahead and assembled last minute. This is most definitely a keeper.
Excellent! We used salmon & halibut and both were very good. Quick & simple enough for a week night meal, but great for guests as well.
