How to Make It

Step 1

Combine cranberries and vinegar in a small bowl. Cover and let stand 30 minutes. Add the mayonnaise and the next 5 ingredients (mayonnaise through garlic); stir well with a whisk. Cover and chill.

Step 2

Combine lettuce and remaining ingredients in a large bowl; add dressing, tossing gently to coat. Serve immediately.

disappointing results

We usually love CL salad recipes and have tried most of them.  This is the first we've come across that didn't get a high rating in our household.  This one wasn't even finished off at the table and leftovers weren't kept.  We found the dressing to be distasteful and didn't think the flavors went well together at all.

A real crowd pleaser, kids like it too! Often bring it to large gatherings, dressing on the side, and toss together right before serving. Nice to make ahead. If raw onions are a problem for some, they can be left off, or as they are added in rings, they are easily removed by those they offend.
