Cream cheese and Cheddar cheese make this casserole extra rich and creamy.

How to Make It

Step 1

Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat; drain. Add tomatoes, sauce, green pepper, mushrooms, garlic, salt, sugar, and wine or broth; cover and simmer over low heat 10 minutes.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, blend together cream cheese, sour cream, onion and one cup Cheddar cheese; set aside.

Step 3

In an ungreased 13"x9" baking pan, layer half the beef mixture, half the noodles and half the cheese mixture; repeat layers. Top with remaining Cheddar cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 minutes.

We loved this casserole! I left out the beef broth but otherwise followed the recipe. This was so good, I ate leftovers for breakfast. :) The leftovers are outstanding.

This is very good, once you get the correct recipe. Please do go to gooseberrypatch.com site . The cream cheese mixture, I think actually makes this dish. Thank you Ahough9581 for following through on finding the recipe.

I haven't tasted this recipe yet but I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that this recipe is missing 2 ingredients; an 8 oz can of tomato sauce and 8oz. pkg of cream cheese, softened. So please make sure you have those to add to the recipe or it won't turn out right. The directions are correct as they mention the 2 missing ingredients but not measurements. I found the recipe at Gooseberry's website which can be found here: http://www2.gooseberrypatch.com/gooseberry/recipe.nsf/55e548eeef8c89b9852568d4004c5ffe/EA03546A4A67E3D785257845005E4B6A
