How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°.

Combine flour, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl; add the dry mixture to the syrup mixture, stirring until well blended.

Pour batter into 8-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean from center. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack.

This is a great cake for the fall. I was feeling adventurous so I looked for a ginger spice cake recipe for my next cake excursion. This was the first listing. It was simple and absolutely delicious! I will be baking one again this weekend as a bundt cake. This time I am trying sliced apples in the middle. My only tip is to use REAL maple syrup. Big difference!
