This garlicky hominy dish is a Test Kitchens favorite—and it uses only staple ingredients as seasonings! Try it with roasted pork and sautéed spinach.

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté 3 minutes or until onion is almost tender. Add hominy and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.

Step 2

Uncover and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
