I made these using only splenda for both parts of the recipe calling for sugars & they turned out great. They were not "rubbery" as the intro statement would suggest. Also plenty sweet enough since splenda tastes sweeter than sugar does. So use both parts splenda for a better tasting healthy brownie. I also bumped up my cocoa powder to 1/2 c so they were good & chocolately!
My brother is a diabetic and very conscious of his carbs and sugars. So, I made this for his visit last night. I had to cover it with icecream(no sugar added, of course). It just did not taste like a dessert, since it just was not sweet enough. Maybe more Splenda in the Cream Cheese. But it used two bowls, two mixings..really just too much trouble and it made only a small pan. It really was just 8 small servings. I do have to say it was very moist. If you are watching sugars and don't want it too sweet, this is for you.
These brownies are addicting!! I realize that I cannot make them often because my family ate almost the whole pan in one night! I like the fact that they are a little bit lighter than other brownie recipes, but it is hard to stop at one. Very good and easy to make.
