While the results aren’t going to be breathing fire, eating this donut will certainly test your taste buds in a way no donut ever has. Steven Universe has a long history of making all sorts of crazy foods in the show, and this donut fits right into the pantheon of epic foods we’ve been dying to interpret. So give it a taste if you dare—you’ll be screaming for ice cream in no time with this fiery confection.

Instructions Checklist
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a doughnut pan and line a tray with parchment paper.

  • Sift the flour and baking powder together into a large bowl. Whisk in the sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Add the butter and use your fingers or a fork to mix into the dry ingredients as you would in making a pastry crust, until evenly distributed. Add the warm milk, yogurt, vanilla, and egg and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  • Use a piping bag or a spoon to fill the doughnut pan cavities three-fourths of the way full. Bake until the doughnuts are a light golden brown and spring back when touched, about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before glazing.

  • While doughnuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a microwave safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, heavy cream, and corn syrup. Heat for 45 seconds in the microwave. Remove, give it a stir, and let sit for a couple of minutes for the residual chips to melt. Stir in the hot sauce, cayenne, cinnamon, and just a small dab of red food coloring.

  • Dip the doughnuts into the glaze. Place on the parchment paper–lined tray. Sprinkle with ghost pepper sea salt to taste and pop rocks before the glaze sets.
