4 servings (serving size: 1 steak)

Filet mignon is extra delicious with a rub of herbs and garlic. Serve this quick-fix recipe with roasted red potato wedges and steamed broccoli florets.

How to Make It

Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl; rub evenly over steaks.

Step 2

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add steaks to the pan, and cook for 4 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.

Chef's Notes

Place florets in a microwave-safe bowl with a little water. Cover with wax paper and microwave at HIGH three minutes or until crisp tender.

Amazing Meal!! Instead of spraying the pan with oil, I mixed melted butter in with the herbs and let everything rest for a few minutes before rubbing it on the steak. I recommend adding a little extra oil to the pan, however, if you are using a normal metal skillet (not non-stick).

This was perfect and the ingredients were so simple. I had pre-rubbed my filets a few hours earlier and had them sitting in the frig ready to go when I came home to cook dinner. So fast and simple!

This was fantastic with the fresh herbs coming from the garden. I had a ribeye while my wife had a filet and we loved it on either cut. Definitely making this again.

I use fresh herbs when cooking, as well; however, I like to use the garlic in the jar sometimes for a more consistent flavor. Fresh cloves vary so much in size, it can be hard to judge.

So good and tender. Plus it's super quick after a long day working. I used half the amount of dried herbs, simply because I didn't want to buy all of the fresh ones and let them go to waste. I also served it with the potato and vegetable au gratin also from cooking light. I made the gratin and rubbed the steaks before I went to work. Had my DH put the gratin in the oven on my way home and then when I got home grilled the filet. From start to finish it took my 10 min (2 min of resting time). Perfect, quick and easy.

Amazing and incredibly easy to make. I already had all of the ingredients in my house and my boyfriend was pleased with this meal. I will be making this quite a few more times, I'm sure.

Very Good. Agree with other reviews, why bottled garlic, when using all fresh herbs?
