This is one of Jill's most requested holiday recipes--and we can see why.

How to Make It

Step 1

Broil French baguette slices on a baking sheet 3 inches from heat 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until lightly toasted. Remove baking sheet, and reduce oven temperature to 350°.

Step 2

Stir together cream cheese and blue cheese in a small bowl until well blended. Spread a heaping 1/2 tsp. cream cheese mixture onto each baguette slice; top each with a rounded 1/2 tsp. fig preserves.

Step 3

Bake at 350° on middle rack for 8 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Step 4

Note: For testing purposes only, we used Braswell's Fig Preserves.

These tasted wonderful. However, the presentation is rather bland and one that wouldn't be a first pick or go-to appetizer on a buffet table. (Hint, no picture with recipe). Next time I would top off the appetizer with some chopped roasted almonds or walnuts to add some texture and appeal.

These are so simple and yet full of great flavor. I made just a few of these for our own weekly cheese plate so I cut back on the ingredients for just a few of these. Amazing flavors with the salty-tartness of blue cheese along with a subtle sweetness of the fig preserves. I've never had fig preserves before but I'm glad I have a jar of it now to make more of these!

These are simply AMAZING. We fixed them for a women's event at church and they were such a hit we had to make another batch. They were my favorite!
