A mix of cornmeal and breadcrumbs gives this fried chicken recipe a crisp bite while keeping the inside of the meat juicy. This crispy coating is also terrific on skinned and boned chicken thighs or pork chops.

How to Make It

Step 1

Combine first 3 ingredients in a shallow dish. Dip chicken in egg, and dredge in cornmeal mixture.

Step 2

Cook chicken in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until done.

It was very easy to make... I added honey mustard to the egg for dipping the chicken, and it gave it a sweet and tangy taste.

This was delicious. We will make this again. It was very simple, didn't take much time to make, and really juicy.

Awful recipe.

5 minutes per side, with the temp barely over medium, coating burnt to a crisp and chicken not even halfway cooked.

Good recipe. I pounded the chicken a bit before cooking, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. It's a nice foundation recipe that would be easy to build on or adjust for other purposes.

Delicious and easy, just followed the directions, very juicy. Also my boyfriend (who is big on southern comfort food) said I make the best fried chicken.
