I used homemade onion soup mix instead, and it cut down on the saltiness of the box brand. Also halved the recipe as I cook just for me.
I made this recipe using a stew package because it’s all I could find. Definitely add just two cups of water. I followed the directions on the instant pack and it was definitely the wrong move. I think I would suggest coating the meat in flour and salt and pepper and searing it first. It was pretty good (and super easy) without doing that but I think it would make it a tad bit better! Also, I think adding a good mustard at the end would be a nice finish. You could also throw in a couple of cloves of garlic and maybe basil or something and that would be a welcome addition.
Overall, with how simple this recipe is, it’s a total success! Was super surprised.
Looks like a great easy recipe, my only question: is searing a good way to enhance the flavor of the roast?
