It doesn't get much better than classic cream cheese frosting. Serve with Hummingbird Cake

How to Make It

Beat cream cheese and butter at medium-low speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add sugar, beating at low speed until blended. Stir in vanilla. Increase speed to medium-high,and beat 1 to 2 minutes or until fluffy.

Please update this recipe. I just went by what was on here, it being my first time making this and the frosting didn't come out right. Waste of money. Please update cream cheese frosting recipe with the right measurements!!

3 T of butter? It calls for a cup....I already put it in the mixing bowl with the cream cheese  I hope it turns out ok.

I watched the video, and it showed 8oz of cream cheese and 16oz of powdered sugar for the frosting. I finallyfound the recipe on the southern living website....the written recipe...and it said, 2 pkgs of cream cheese, 8 oz each and two 16 oz pkgs of powdered sugar.  Well, I had already been to the store and purchased by what the video said! I live several miles from a store....so cake is done, and I don't have enough for the frosting!

love the frosting

I always adjust the butter. I used 3T butter, 1 1/2 or 12 oz. Cream cheese & 2cups powdered sugar. It wasn't runny, great as filling and and so creamy.

Great taste, but for a creamier, thicker frosting I recommend decreasing the butter by half. I have used as little as 2-3 tablespoons successfully.

Tastes great but not good for a layer cake. NOT fluffy, very runny.

Very good taste. Is not a fluffy frosting, so it will work best on a sheet cake. I don't recommend for a layer cake.
